The safety of the trainer is the most important factor to remember when ever training a dog. When training a dog to be a guard, for protection, and for attack purposes, the dog must be trained in a manner that puts the trainer in total control of the dogs’ aggressive behavior.
Training a dog for any of the above tasks involves many aggressive actions for the dog to begin with. While doing this type of training the trainer himself is the target for the dog. The dog is actually required to attack on command as well as back off when it is ordered to do so.
Everyone who thinks about being attacked by a dog is most afraid of the dog’s bite. Very often they don’t even consider the fact that dogs have razor sharp claws that spring out like a cats claws to protect them when they feel threatened and they definitely know how to use them to protect them.
When a dog attempts to attack, it tries to grab the arm of the trainer first. In order to avoid body scratches, scratch pants are the best bet for the trainer to have in this particular case. The dog will rest its’ front paws on the trainers thighs in order to hold the trainer down and get to his arm. The claws in the situation can do quite a bit of damage. Scratch pants are a very good idea for the trainer to have in this situation.
Scratch pants form an extremely effective layer between the dogs’ claws and the skin of the trainer. They are made of a very thick material and are very protective.
Sometimes scratch pants even help the dog. When the trainer falls the scratch pant put the dog in a position where he can’t hurt the trainer or himself. They both end up with protection due to the scratch pants.
Scratch pants have proven to be an incredibly useful training aid, providing safety for both the trainer and the dog.
Safety should come first when training any dog, and if the dog does not seem to react to your command, it may be time to bring in a professional.

Dogs can be good pets, of course, but they can also be quite difficult sometimes and this is why so many dog owners are turning to the Sit Stay Fetch Online DIY Dog Training Guide to learn how to teach their four legged friends to be well behaved in all circumstances. Sit Stay Fetch is an affordable PDF guide that can be bought on the web twenty-four/seven.
While it is true that there are certainly many plusses to hiring a pro local dog training expert there are also plenty of negatives. A local dog training expert is likely to be more expensive when compared to ordering a “Do It Yourself” dog training eBook. Another negative is that you aren’t going to be learning how to train your dog on your own, but you are instead relying on someone else to change their behavior issues.
On the other hand a local dog trainer is going to be more advanced as a dog trainer than you will be by simply reading a guide. A pro dog training expert is going to be much better at the job than you can hope to be just by reading a book!
With that said, if you do want to go the “DIY” route I believe that SitStayFetch is an excellent choice. It is a eBook that has worked for many thousands of others and it is totally guaranteed (with a 60 day full money back refund period.)
SitStayFetch is laid out in a very to follow kind of way that allows you to quickly learn how to fix any particularly behavior problem you may be having with your “best friend” including problems with aggressive behavior and crate training.
This book has been so popular is because it was created by a professional dog trainer named. Ordering this eBook is a lot like having a professional teach you what you need to be doing at every step. For those who don’t like to read, Sit Stay Fetch also comes with an audio version of the guide.
Try this Austin Dog Training Service if you live in the area. It’s ran by an excellent Professional Dog Trainer in Austin.

It does not matter where you live, I am sure that you experience storms at some time of the year. In the north of the northern hemisphere, we tend to get lots of rain in winter and spring. In the tropics, there may be monsoons. Whatever you call them, they give off lots of wind and lots of rain in a short space of time – it is basically a storm.
The fact is that, if you know that a storm is approaching, you can take precautions and save your precious fish, whether they are expensive or just dear to you. It might be useful to distinguish between minor and major storms, but that is only helpful if you can trust your meteorologist.
Minor Storms: the first thing to do is to stop feeding your fish, if you have enough notice of the storm. Fish can easily live for weeks on the insects and plant life in the water, so do not be concerned. The reason for stopping feeding is that if the storm damages your filtration system, the quality of the pond water will not deteriorate so much, if there is no uneaten food in it.
Take out some of the water to allow for the rainfall, but do a partial water change too, because otherwise the reduced water level will contain greater levels of toxins until the rain comes.
Remove things from the vicinity that can blow over and fall into your pond. It is a good idea to put a net over the pond to prevent things being blown into it too. Flying twigs or branches could alarm or even spear your fish.
Major Storms: we are not talking about hurricanes here. If a hurricane looks likely to hit, you should evacuate your fish to a temporary tank somewhere safe – maybe a 50 gallon barrel in the basement or somewhere like that.
If you want to be completely certain that your fish will be alright, you could ask your local pet shop to take them away to look after them otherwise proceed as for a minor storm but with the following extra safety measures.
Disconnect all the electrical apparatus in and around your fish pond. Make sure that there is no way that a live wire can fall into the pond and electrocute your fish. Remove all the plants from your pond as they could be damaged by the wind and waves, but leave any stone hiding places that your fish will certainly look for while the storm is blowing. If you think that maybe you do not have enough ‘caves’, build some temporary ones from bricks or blocks.
Put a double layer of netting over your pond and tie it lower down than normal, say only a few inches above the water line, but not so low that if a fish gets out, it cannot get back in. Lastly, build a wall of sand bags at least two feet high all the way around your pond. This will allow the water to get in and drain away, without taking your fish with it, which is why the net must be high enough to permit the fish to get back into the pond.

Anyone who has seen the blockbuster movie, Jaws will find it difficult to imagine the great white shark as being endangered by anything. However, this shark has simply been over hunted from 1970 until now. This species takes a long time to reach sexual maturity. When overfishing occurs, the reproduction rate drops radically.
New Zealand imposes a $250,000 fine on fishermen who capture one within 200 nautical miles of New Zealand. The same fine applies to boats carrying the New Zealand flag outside the 200 nautical mile (370 kilometres) boundary. In addition, they can be jailed for six months time.
The great white shark by other names is called the white death and the white pointer. Its scientific classification is Carcharodon carcharias. Seen mostly in coastal waters (off all countries). It can reach a length of 20 feet (6 metres) and 4,940 pounds (2,240 kilograms).
The life span is 30 to 100 years. Sexual maturity occurs at approximately fifteen years. Men hate it because it eats (among many other things), seals an sea lions. Porpoises and dolphins are on its menu as well. It does consume fish of all kinds too.
In spite of the image portrayed by the novel and movie, humans are not the first food choice of the great white. However, none among us would try to prove that fact. The great white may be endangered, but endangering seems a more appropriate term.
Coastal waters are its normal habitat. The temperature ranges from 12 to 24 celcius and 54 to 75 degrees Farenheit. More of them are found near South Africa, Australia, California in the US and Mexico. They have been found in waters off the Caribbean islands and Massachusetts in the US.
The underbelly of this shark is white. The dorsal area is grey, sometimes with a brown or blue mottling. Its snout is large an conical in shape. When it bites with its rows of serrated teeth, it shakes its head as it saws off parts of its prey.
Little has been determined about the mating habits of the great white shark. Scientists theorize that they may migrate to an underwater mating ground. Another theory is that gathering around and feeding on a dead whale may arouse mating behavior. Neither has been proven yet.
In his studies of sharks one shark that has always fascinated Richard Williams is the Great White Shark.

Dog bites can be one of the most dangerous of all type animal bites if not properly treated. Annually, many die as a result of rabies contracted from dog bites. Of those who are bitten by a dog, many victims tend to neglect such bites because they don’t understand just how serious they can be. Thinking the wound can be managed by simple cleansing or by taking antibiotics. What these people don’t realize is that a vicious dog bite can lead to serious infections, deformity, disability and even death.
Dog attacks can avoided in a number of ways. A good way is to put a safe distance between you and the suspicious mutt. One other method is to abstain from evoking attack from a dog. If you find yourself in stand-off with a suspicious dog, it is best to retreat very slowly and then walk away. Nevertheless, regardless of how cautious you try to be, there may come a time when you will experience such a situation. This is when it is handy to have some dog pepper spray around.
A dog pepper spray is an animal repellent used specifically against an aggressive dog. It is packaged in a canister which you can carry in your handbag, purse, or briefcase. For more convenience you can even fasten it to your belt or key chain. Such pepper sprays have numerous advantages. Its effect is instant once you spray it on the dog. The effects are long enough to allow you to get away to a safe place. Because the pepper spray will cause so much discomfort and hurting, the dog will shift his attention from you to coping with the pain. If you are an animal enthusiast, you need not be concerned because the compound will not cause serious harm to the creature. The effects will eventually disappear, usually within half an hour. Another reason why these animal repellents are well-liked is because dog pepper spray is legal to carry and use anywhere in the U.S. when used as a self defense tool. Always check with your local law enforcement regarding pepper spray because there may be restrictions in some areas.
What is the difference between human pepper spray and dog pepper spray? The pepper resins in dog pepper spray are not as strong as the ones in the human edition. The amount of pepper resin present in this type dog repellent is typically less than half of the pepper resin in human spray. In case of a crisis, you could use human grade pepper spray to stop a dog attack but not a dog grade pepper spray on attacking villains because it will be ineffective.
Although you may be a dog enthusiast, you may still need certain defense from these animals that try to attack you. By nature, all animals are unpredictable, so never underestimate a dog’s capacity to injure you. Carrying a dog pepper spray is one effectual and animal-friendly approach to protect yourself and your family from possible dog attacks.

We all worry about staying safe around our horses, but it’s also important to make sure we keep them safe, too.
Below are some ways to make certain your equine friend suffers no harm as you learn how to ride a horse.
1. Tying the Horse:
Tying a horse is so often done in a manner endangering the horse, that it needs to be addressed here.
Please avoid tying a horse up to any solid structure, always! You should always use a segment of cut cord or something similar to round it over, then twist the lead rope into it. If your horse gets spooked, the cord will break apart and let the horse escape without any injury or damage to the object by which he was tied.
This applies to the trailer ties as well.
When tying the horse, be certain that the rope does not hang below his shoulder so that he will not get his foot tangled in it. And you must ensure that there is enough slack so that he will not feel excessively restricted.
Please never tie your horse by the reins: if he panics and pulls away the bit will rip his mouth – and you’ll also have broken reins.
Ensure that haynets do dangle loosely when empty. You need to tie them sufficiently high so that the horse can reach, but such that they do not create a danger.
2. Stirrups:
Be careful to keep stirrups run up when you’re not riding. They can hit your horse’s sides while you’re leading him, or catch on something and cause him to panic.
3. Safety Round the Barn
Be wary whenever you are walking through the barn. Should you notice a pitch fork somewhere that a horse or person could step on it, pick it up and put it away. Wheelbarrows can be a danger should a horse become stuck between the handles and then panic.
Our horses deserve the safest living conditions we can offer to them. While you acquire greater experience with your equestrian confidant, you will find more and more new ways to keep him safer.

All pets inevitably slow down as they get older, but with the right preventative care, you can help them make the most of their twilight years. Be sure to take your senior pet to the veterinarian annually or more often, according to its needs.
Just like people, pets have to watch their weight to feel good and to look good. An overweight pet usually is susceptible to more health problems including, joint pain, arthritis, kidney malfunctions and diabetes.
Reduce the amount of special treats you feed your pets. Pets love their treats and may be hard to resist, but every extra treat brings along extra calories they will have to burn off to be at a healthy weight. So, when they are begging for kibble keep in mind their health is at stake.
It’s best to feed your pet once a day or in smaller amounts a few times a day. Don’t forget to remove any food left in the bowl after they have finished eating. Explain to your children that sneaking food to the family pet can have negative consequences.
It’s important to provide a stead supply of fresh, cool water for your pet. Sometimes older dogs have trouble reaching the bowl. Use an elevated dish and place it in a central location so your pet has easy access to it.
Exercise is crucial for your pets at any age. Short daily walks are recommended for older pets to keep their circulation in good condition. Dogs enjoy getting fresh air and the stimulation of daily walks.
As your pet ages you may find they can no longer digest dry food or it may be too hard on its teeth. When that happens, switch to moist or canned dog food.
To take the best care of your aging pet, take the time for regular veterinary care. A checkup will help your pet to live a long and happy life.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved going to the zoo. Growing up in San Diego, I was really able to gain an appreciation for the wide range of species in the world by visiting the local zoos. Many of my childhood weekends were spent at the city zoo, observing the animals and studying their different behaviors.
Even as an adult, I’m a big animal lover and I still find zoos both educational and extremely entertaining. Here are a few of my favorite animals, many of which can probably be found in your local zoo.
Dolphins always make for an entertaining show. They’re fun to watch, and they’re very intelligent and friendly. Dolphins are mammals, even though it doesn’t seem like they would be. They love attention from humans and they’re always receptive to playing.
Monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees are probably some of my favorite animals to watch. I love studying them because they’re the closest thing to human beings in the zoo, or on the planet, for that matter.
You could watch these animals for hours, and their expressions and mannerisms will have you laughing out loud. They’re sure to keep you entertained with their funny behaviors; I know I can’t help but smile when I’m watching them.
The elephant is the last animal I’ll bring up. I’ve loved elephants since I was a kid for the fact that they’re quite intelligent and loving despite their tremendous size.
Find out if your local zoo offers an elephant exhibit, and make sure to visit the exhibit if it’s there. To me, elephants are one of the most interesting creatures to watch in the zoo. I could sit there and study their behaviors all day.
Whenever you find yourself at the zoo, look out for these exhibits. You’ll definitely be entertained, and you might even be surprised by the intelligence of some of these animals.

If you have a backyard or back garden, you can have a fish pond. They are not costly to build and if you make it yourself it is clearly even cheaper. You can make your own pond pretty easily, you just have to bear a few things in mind when you plan where you are going to situate it and how big it will be.
A backyard fish pond is fantastic for all kinds of households. Tending a backyard fish pond is not difficult and the mild exercise can be good for you. it is also therapeutic to watch the fish and other pond life going about their routine business and children will learn a bit more about nature,
It is important to plan your pond before you take up your spade and the first thing to think about is where you are going to put it. Try not to locate it under a tree or you will be pulling leaves out of your pond every day in autumn. Do not put the pond at the lowest point in your backyard or it may overflow when it rains and your fish may swim away which means that you will need to sandbag it before it rains every time..
The midday sun can be very hot, so it would help if the pond had at least partial shade between 11 AM and 2 PM. If your region is subject to freezing then the pond should be 30-45 inches deep for at least 4 m2 or 36 ft2, although if the winter can get really bad, it is best to get advice from a neighbourhood pet shop. Have a look at the pre-formed fish ponds in a garden or pond centre to see if you like those shapes and sizes. If you do not, then you can procure a butyl pond liner (a sheet of rubber) and design your own pond.
After you have dug out your backyard fish pond and put your pre-formed or butyl liner into the hole, you should finish off the pond’s edge with either brick, block or stone. Use similar materials to build a few caves in the pond itself for the fish to take cover in. You could also anchor the fountain and any under-water lighting. Fill the pond with water, but do not place any living thing into it yet. Put the rest of your equipment in.
You will need a general purpose pump to send water to the pond filter, which should be two or three feet above the water level. The water will then have to pass through a filter to remove plant debris and faeces and under a UV light to kill bacteria. It can return to the pond via a waterfall, which will help aerate the water as will the fountain.
After a week, the water will have lost the chemicals like chlorine which the water company puts into it and you can buy plants and fish, but do not rush into it. You may want to build a few shelves to put flower pots on for the aquatic plants that have need of them.

Do you have a garden pond? Or would you like one? A garden pond or a water garden does not have to be large to completely change how you use your garden. The sound of running water is so relaxing and a pond fountain or a waterfall can have a cooling effect on a hot summer’s day. Watching the fish carry out their daily lives is relaxing too and many gardeners like the chance to branch out into the new kingdom of aquatic plants.
If your pond is sunk into the earth, your could watch it from above or you could build it above ground and utilize perspex windows to watch your fish on their own level. Your fish will reproduce too, so you will have a new, complete, ecosystem in your own backyard.
Select the site of your pond with care. Try to position it on slightly higher ground, so that it is not flooded with all your garden’s rainwater in the course of heavy rains. Beware of putting your pond under a tree or you will always be raking leaves out of the water, which is a real pain. Siting your pond in a location where it is in at least partial shade when the sun is high will also help reduce on algae growth.
However, once the contractor has created your pond and you have stocked it, is the time when your work begins. Perhaps not work, possibly you will take pleasure in maintaining your fish and your fish pond. This is not hard and a largish pond will need hardly any maintenance at all, most of it can be mechanized.
One of the first things that you will have to try to do is stop your garden falling into the pond. You do not want surrounding mud slipping into the pond and literally muddying the water. This can be accomplished by lining your pond with a butyl pond liner and bringing the liner up over the lip of the pond by a foot or two.
Then you need to hold that in place. This can be done to suit your taste, but most people put a stone or brick walkway around the pond. If you let this overhang the pond by an inch or two, you will very nearly totally hide the pond liner.
The majority of people overfeed their fish, because fish outdoor will find a lot of natural food such as flies, larvae and grubs. This surplus food turns into a surplus of nutrients. This super-charged water is a perfect milieu for algae, and algae is going to be your undying adversary. However, you can soak up some of these surplus nutrients with other plants that you like.
Aquatic plants such as lilies really make a pond and they will help aerate the water during the day when the water may be warmer (warm water contains less oxygen than cool water). Plants also give your fish somewhere to hide from predators and strong sunlight, which will diminish stress on your fish as well.
